Welcome

2011 has been the year of projects for me.  It first started with putting in laminate flooring which went pretty well.  Now it has progressed to the master bathroom.

But it's not by choice, we had a leak in the shower that ruined the carpet in the hallway and in the master bedroom. Let's give a little bit of a back story.  My house was built 1964, before the state building codes were established for more efficient homes, and I purchased it in 2005.  It came to my realization of the failed codes when I found out that my roof decking was not made of even 3/4 inch plywood, but instead 1/4 inch interior paneling. Yup the same type you find in some older homes. Luckily it survived a series of bad storms. I replaced the roof  in 2006 myself with the help of my good friend Duke. I will write about that experience later.

Why you ask am I doing this blog?  This blog is to help assist others who have decided to tackle projects on their  own.  I am not a contractor, builder but an amature DIY.  Trust me its not as easy as they show on TV.  They edit a lot out of the projects to make the 30 minute or 1 hour show.  But I am also doing this because there is little information on the older homes.

So let's start with my new project the bathroom. The series of pictures are all taken over a two month period from the beginning to where I am today.  This is a labor of  love, sweat and strangely enough peace.
